On March 15 and 17, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) renewed or extended the facility registrations by five years for approximately 14 U.S. dairy, 210 U.S. poultry, and 365 U.S. pork establishments.
On March 15, the GACC renewed the facility registrations by five years for two U.S. pork that became overdue on February 19. On March 17, GACC renewed by five years the remaining (363) pork registrations that became overdue on March 17.
When GACC extended the renewal dates establishments listed in the CIFER system (Registration Information of Overseas Manufacturers of Imported Food,) the renewals were made so there were no gaps in export facility registration validity. In other words, even though the facility may have become overdue on February 19, the renewals made on March 15 and 17, covered the entire period since the registration became overdue and products slaughtered or manufactured between the period when the facility became overdue and when the extension was issued remain eligible for export to China.
