Pig glossary

Vertebra

It is one of the many bones that form the spinal column of vertebrate animals. The pig has 27 vertebrae, plus the small bones that make up the tail. They are separated by intervertebral disk, giving flexibility to the spine column.

The spine column is located in the dorsal part of the animals, connecting the head to the pelvis. Its function is to support and protect the spinal cord.
