Pheromones

They are very volatile particles released by an animal in order to influence the behavior of other members of the same species (for example, sexual estimulation of the females). These particles are eliminated through different body secretions (saliva, urine and foreskin secretions).

Androsterone is one of these pheromones and is responsible for the sexual odour in pork from entire males.
