Zearalenone is a toxin produce by the fungus Fusarium spp. It causes infertility, anoestrus, rectal prolapse and pseudopregnancy in sows. In this unit, sows were fed a diet contaminated with zearalenone and female piglets were born with vulvovaginitis. Diagnosis was confirmed by analysing the diet and collecting bile from the gall bladder for mycotoxins.
