Spleen hypertrophy with adhesions - Atlas of swine pathology

Spleen hypertrophy with adhesions

Where:

Possible causes: Other

The spleen injury is a hypertrophy —caused by obstruction of splenic vessels— with omental adhesions, which suggests an ancient process. It is seen here next to a normal spleen to appreciate the difference.

This was a slaughterhouse finding in a pig without apparent symptoms before slaughter.
