Chronic African Swine Fever clinical picture 99 days after experimental infection. The animal showed respiratory distress with spasmodic coughing over the period of a month. At necropsy the lungs appeared with a severe bilateral caseous pneumonia; mediastinal lymph nodes appear enlarged.
Diferencial diagnosis must include bacterial pneumonia, especially bacteria producing pyogranulomatous infections such as Trueperella pyogenes (although it produces smaller size abcesses) Mycobacterium (rare), and chronic forms of A. pleuropneumoniae and pasteurella.
