Lung of a fattening pig found at the slaughterhouse with hypertrophy due to alveolar emphysema that was formed during the scalding process. The use of horizontal scalding in the slaughterhouses of pigs means that the animals are submerged, with the possibility of aspiration of water (due to bad stunning or the last involuntary movements of the animal). The bronchial tubes and bronchioles are filled with foam mixed with fluids, which may contain hairs and skin debris, which allows to distinguish this problem from pulmonary edema.
