A diffuse, severe and well organized yellowish fibrinous exudate cover the peritoneal organs. This severe and diffuse chronic fibrinous peritonitis could be observed alone in the abdomen as well as in other serosal cavities (pericardium and pleura). This findings are consistant with Glässer's diseases (poliserositis) caused by Haemophilus parasuis. The diseases could rarely involve also joints and central nervous system.

Mycoplasma hyorhinis, S. suis and colibacillosis should also be considered in the differential diagnosis.
