This is a case of porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome (PDNS). The lesion, spotted in a pig after slaughter, is a necrotizing haemorrhagic dermatitis, with a colour ranging from red to purple, and dark brown in the centre. On inspection, nephritis is usually found in the kidneys of these animals and the cause is related to PCV2.
