Mucohemorrhagic diarrhea

Where:

Possible causes: Gastric ulcersIleitisSwine dysentery

Mucohemorrhagic diarrhea from animals affected with swine dysentery. The animals had gone off feed, and had a fever and loss of body condition. Remains of diarrhea with white mucofibrous hemorrhagic content and large amounts of mucus are seen on the floor of the pen. Differential diagnosis should include gastric ulcers and ileitis. One thing to consider is that ileitis does not produce a presence of mucus in the feces.
