Mesenteric cysts are lumps containing bloody liquid and situated between the two layers of the mesentery. They can appear anywhere from the duodenum to the rectum, but the most frequent location is the mesentery of the small intestine.

In this case multiple cysts of varying sizes between 5 and 15 cm in diameter were found spreading all throughout the small intestine mesentery space, with well defined walls and containing a highly fluent liquid. The most common cause appears to be an obstruction of lymphatic ducts, but they may be also due to infections or bleeding processes.
