Lymphadenopathy is common in cases of PCV2-systemic disease (PCV2-SD) in pigs. As the name implies, the causative agent is porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2). This typically affects pigs of seven to ten weeks of age with a with a relatively sudden onset and severe loss of body condition, hairy appearance, and slow death. Occasionally, respiratory distress and/or diarrhoea are associated with this syndrome.
