Haemorrhage due to blood aspiration

Where:

Possible causes: Other

The lung is a slaughterhouse finding; it shows petechiae throughout the lung parenchyma.
The most likely cause is aspiration of blood during slaughter due to accidental incision of the trachea in the bleeding process. When cutting the lung, a bloody froth appears as a consequence of the air from the lung mixing with the aspirated blood.
