This lesion corresponds to a fibrinous pericarditis in a pig with Glässer’s disease caused by the gram negative bacteria Glaesserella parasuis. Typically it causes polyserositis, meningoencephalitis and polyarthritis. Fibrinogen is released from the bloodstream due to vascular damage. Differential diagnose must include also Mycoplasma hyorhinis.
