Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App) is the etiology of Contagious Pleuropneumonia of pigs. It usually produces large inflammatory foci in the caudal pulmonary lobes consisting of necrosis, hemorrhages and fibrin deposition on the pleura. The diferential diagnosis includes the infection by some strains of Pasteurella multocida.
