Pigs found dead because of suffocation.

A stormy night produced an electric power cut in this farm. The flat-deck accommodation for the weaners has automatic ventilation. The doors are opened automatically after an electric power cut. However, the strong gales at night blew the door back and locked it again. Eighty per cent of the weaners in that room were found dead as a consequence of oxygen deprivation (suffocation/asphyxia). Most of the animals found alive were dope and had to be euthanised due to brain damage as a consequence of it.
