This lesion corresponds to the disease called Atrophic rhinitis. It is produced by Bordetella bronchiseptica (Nonprogressive atrophic rhinitis, NPAR) and/or Pasteurella multocida (Progressive atrophic rhinitis, PAR) type D or, less commonly, type A. NPAR usually produces mild clinical signs, in contrast, PAR produces serious production losses.
