Abscesses

Where:

Possible causes: Other

This lesion is a rare finding in a cutting room. Abscesses were found on both sides of the hip bone in a ham, close to the lymph nodes. The abscesses are perfectly encapsulated, of pasty consistency and light cream colour. Their most likely cause is the spread of germs from skin lesions through the bloodstream. This animal has tail necrosis.
