Research

  • I am focused on applying the concepts of veterinary epidemiology and statistics to develop science-driven information on applied strategies to significantly prevent, detect or manage infectious diseases in order to provide evidence-based solutions to support decision-making in swine production.
  • Areas of interest: field studies, risk assessment, biosecurity, monitoring of production data, surveillance systems, swine production and health, disease economics and interdisciplinary programs.
  • Research program involves graduate students working directly with veterinarians and swine producers, which leverages resources and naturally connects research, extension/outreach, and education.
