Cristina Muñoz Madero

Area head of the National Action Plan for the reduction of the risks of antibiotic resistance of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS).

She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a Diploma in Business Management.

• Since 1990 she has worked at the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Health Products, where she is currently head of the Preclinical and Clinical Area and Centralized Procedures.
• Since 2014 she has been the coordinator for the development of the "National Action Plan for the reduction of antibiotic resistance risks in Human / Veterinary Medicine" (PRAN) responsible for supervising, promoting, and coordinating the actions included in the PRAN strategic and action plans, namely coordinating the surveillance of veterinary antibiotic consumption, reduction programs, IACRA report, PRAN training program, development of the Clinical Pathogenic Bacteria Surveillance System - Epidemiological Map and elaboration of PRAN annual reports.
• Since 2005, she has served as the Spanish member of the European Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP) and as such contributes to all aspects for which the CVMP is responsible, such as the coordination of the initial evaluation of applications for authorization, post-authorization and maintenance activities, as well as the recommendation of maximum safety limits for veterinary medicinal products used in food-producing animals.
• Since 2017, she has been chair of the CVMP's Efficacy Working Party (EWP) where she coordinates the preparation of scientific guidelines and regulatory guidelines to assist pharmaceutical companies in preparing marketing authorization applications for veterinary medicinal products and to ensure regulatory and scientific consistency of the working group's recommendations.
