Anouschka Middelkoop

Anouschka Middelkoop obtained her MSc (specialisations: animal health, behaviour and immunology) and PhD in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. During her PhD, she has been studying early nutrition (creep feeding) and the weaning transition in piglets, focusing on their feeding behaviour and physiology in early life. While working on this thesis she was awarded Alltech Young Scientist of Europe in 2019.

From January 2020 onwards, Anouschka started working at the R&D department of SFR as Researcher Swine Nutrition. In this role she is mainly studying piglet gut health, post-weaning diarrhoea and the effects of early life on later life development. During her career she would like to continue to improve the health and welfare of animals as multi-disciplinary researcher
