333 Africa successfully hosted the largest swine mentorship program in Northern Nigeria, bringing together over 550 swine producers and stakeholders from various states across the region. The event took place last week at the Conference Hall of Unity Wonderland Hotel in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, under the theme: Adoption of Best Practices for Sustainable Swine Production.
This initiative marks one of 333 Africa’s pioneering efforts to promote best practices in swine production and management across Africa. The mentorship program represents the most extensive training convergence for swine producers in Northern Nigeria in recent years.

The event commenced with welcome addresses, starting with Mr. Olasupo S. Ayobami, Brand Manager of 333 Africa, who warmly received participants from various states. Mr. Istifanus Zom, Vice President of the Pig Farmers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), delivered an opening remark on behalf of Prof. A.O.K. Adesehinwa, National President of PFAN. Additionally, Dr. Kapachi, Director of Livestock for Kaduna State, represented the Kaduna State Commissioner of Agriculture, while Prof. Sodangi, Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University (Kafanchan Campus), also delivered an opening remark.
On the first day of the program, the primary training sessions were led by Mr. Ayobami, who divided his presentations into two intensive sessions. The first session introduced the 333 Africa website, offering an overview of the website and the different platforms and tools available to support the African swine farming community. His second session emphasized the critical need for adopting best practices in swine production, outlining essential reforms necessary to ensure a more sustainable swine industry in Nigeria.
The grand finale featured goodwill messages from distinguished dignitaries, including Hon. Dare Akau and Prof. Sodangi, among others. Mr. Ayobami then delivered a recap of the training sessions before commencing the main presentation of the second day. His discussions focused on pig breeding and management systems, basics of swine nutrition, and key biosecurity measures.
As the event concluded, over 400 participants received training certificates from 333 Academy, serving as formal recognition of their participation in the mentorship program. In addition, Mr. Kure Maijamaa Kadeh was honored with an award of recognition, presented by Mr. Olasupo Ayobami, in appreciation of his outstanding contributions, commitment, and dedication to the success of the program.
The event concluded with the award presentation, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of sustainable swine production practices in Northern Nigeria.
